Welcome to the Official Website of the Local GovernmentUnit of Alburquerque, Bohol, Philippines.

Alburquerque is classified as a 5th class municipality of the 1st Congressional District of Bohol. It is located in the eastern part of Bohol 12 kilometers (7 mi) away from Tagbilaran City that is politically divided into eleven barangays (6 coastal barangays & 5 upland barangays) with a total population of 9,018 from 1,917 households according the Poverty Database Monitoring System as of 2009. Coastal barangays include Bahi, San Agustin, Western and Eastern Poblacion, Sta. Felomina, and Tagbuane while upland barangays consist of Ponong, Toril, Basacdacu, Dangay and Cantiguib.
Alburquerque is also considered as a favorite tourist destination because of its many natural wonders. It boasts of having one of the longest and heaviest Python in captivity. It has also exotic marine sites. There is a Municipal Marine Sanctuary at barangay Sta. Felomina offering a beach and a mangrove protected area and the Sta. Felomina beach, a white sandy beach with a cool, crystal clear blue water found in the same site. The town has also natural wonders and micro local industries like the making of calamay, traditional method of manufacturing pottery, and the weaving of raffia using locally made loom. These are just some of the enriching legacies of old time which are being preserved by the Alburanons.
